★ Adjustment of the Eight Areas of Liberal Education to Four Areas Starting from the 1121 Semester ★

Starting from the first semester of the 112th academic year, the Common Education Curriculum's eight areas of liberal education have been adjusted to four major areas. The relevant course notices are as follows:

I. Starting from the 1121 Semester, the eight areas of liberal education have been adjusted to four major areas, namely "Humanistic Exploration," "Social Dynamics," "Technological Innovation," and "Interdisciplinary Sustainability." In response to the change in course names and domains, all liberal education courses will be offered under new course numbers. Students enrolled before the 112th academic year will continue to follow the regulations of the eight major areas of liberal education (old course numbers). Therefore, courses under the eight major areas (old course numbers) and the four major areas (new course numbers) will coexist, providing course selections for both existing and new students. The use of new and old course numbers will be restricted by the enrollment year and will be explained in the course syllabus.

II. The enrollment quotas for courses under the eight major areas and four major areas will be allocated according to the enrollment proportions of new and existing students in the 111th academic year, as follows:
1. Eight major areas: Old course number - Example Course: "Rural Narrative Exploration (Personality)" - limited to students enrolled before or in the 111th academic year.
2. Four major areas: New course number - Example Course: "Rural Narrative Exploration [Interdisciplinary Sustainability]" - limited to new students enrolled from the 112th academic year onwards.

III. If there are remaining quotas for both new and old course numbers of the same course after the completion of the first and second stages of computerized course selection, quotas will be opened for the other course number during the third stage of computerized course selection to safeguard students' rights and interests.

IV. For relevant regulations, please refer to the academic regulations. For any inquiries or issues, please contact the Liberal Education Division at extension 2002.
